Since
1998, Ferry Beach Ecology School (FBES) has brought innovative ecology
education programs to thousands of children and adults throughout New
England. In everything we do – week-long programs on our coastal
campus, outreach and trainings at schools, family and community
programs, publishing curriculums and field guides – we accentuate the
magic, mystery and wonder of nature so that students can better
understand and care for the environment. FBES is located on Ferry Beach
in Saco, about 30 minutes south of Portland. Our coastal campus is the
ideal outdoor classroom with eight ecosystems within walking distance
including a sand beach and dunes, tide pools, salt marshes, a forested
state park, river estuary, fishing village and jetty.

Located
in Casco Bay on Peaks Island, Horse Island Camp is an active day camp
where kindness and animal appreciation is emphasized. Accessible by the Casco Bay Lines ferry in Portland, children ages 3-17 take a morning boat ride out to reach the island. Once there, the days are filled with horseback riding, kayaking, swimming, fort exploration, games and crafts. Starting
this year we are also doing an overnight camp, where kids can spend the
entire week on the island learning all about the horses and having fun.

Come join our thirteenth year of summer photography camps for ages 8-18. Students
will learn black and white film processing and print making, proper
camera handling techniques, and a strong emphasis on vision and
composition. Activities include
field trips, demonstrations and discussions, slide shows, visits to
local photography exhibits, ice cream and swimming breaks. Field trips
may include exploring nearby light houses and beaches, local fairs,
festivals and parades, a ferry ride to Vinalhaven, and walks to parks

22nd- 27th at Saint Joseph's College, on the shores of beautiful Sebago
Lake in Standish, is open to students of violin, viola, cello, piano
and guitar and their parents who work with a Suzuki teacher and study
the Suzuki repertoire.
Students range in age from preschool through high school and are welcome with their families as dorm residents or as commuters. Daily offerings include the core curriculum, enrichment classes, recitals, parent offerings and recreation. Special
events during the NESI week include Contradance and Lobsterbake, The
Faculty Recital, Student Recitals and Final Concerts.

Youth
ages 6 - 12 are invited to spend six days exploring the Pemaquid
watershed in Midcoast Maine at the Doyle Preserve in Damariscotta, the
Rachel Carson Salt Pond Preserve in New Harbor and at Pemaquid Beach. Two
1-week sessions will be offered this summer: July 7-12 and July 14-19.

We offer six 1-week sessions for artists 2-9 years old starting July 7th. Each week we will explore a new theme such as Intro to Art, Art in Theatre, and the art of construction. The
older kids, 4-9 years old meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from
10:00-1:00pm with a maximum of 8 artists and costs $100 per week. The younger kids, 2-4 years old, meet Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00-12:00 with a maximum of 5 artists for $50 per week.
